Kandungan Metabolit Sekunder dan Aktivitas Tanaman Bajakah Sebagai Agen Antioksidan

Abstract

Peningkatan radikal bebas dapat menyebabkan kerusakan oksidatif dari tingkat sel, jaringan, hingga organ tubuh. Maka dari itu, diperlukan senyawa antioksidan untuk menstabilkan radikal bebas. Salah satu tanaman yang memiliki aktivitas antioksidan adalah bajakah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan metabolit sekunder dan aktivitas bajakah sebagai agen antioksidan dari berbagai kajian literatur. Metode yang digunakan adalah Literature Review Article. Data merupakan artikel, nasional maupun internasional, tahun publikasi 2012-2022 yang sesuai dengan kata kunci dan dicari menggunakan database Google Scholar, Research Gate, dan PubMed. Setelah proses skrining, didapatkan 5 literatur yang ditinjau lebih lanjut. Berdasarkan hasil peninjauan literatur, bajakah menunjukkan aktivitas antioksidan yang tergolong kuat dan sangat kuat karena memiliki nilai IC50 di bawah 100 ppm. Aktivitas antioksidan ini dipengaruhi karena kandungan metabolit sekunder seperti flavonoid, fenolik, saponin, tanin yang dimiliki bajakah.
