
Hyperhidrosis, which affects nearly 3% of the population, is characterized by excessive sweating due to eccrine sweat gland hyperactivity. It has negative impact on quality of life, and social relations and also may lead to social anxiety disorders. Here, we review the causes of hyperhidrosis, clinical evaluation of patients and treatment options. (Turkderm 2011; 45: 2-9)
