QUALIDADE DE VIDA EM ACADÊMICOS INGRESSANTES EM CURSOS DE EDUCAÇÃO FÍSICA

Abstract

Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar a qualidade de vida de acadêmicos ingressantes em cursos de Educação Física e compará-la entre os sexos, cursos, status do peso, imagem corporal e níveis de atividade física dos participantes. Participaram 198 acadêmicos (Bacharelado= 104 e Licenciatura= 94), com média de idade de 20,6 (4,6) anos. Os participantes responderam a um questionário sobre sexo, idade, massa corporal e estatura (para cálculo do IMC e classificação do status do peso), imagem corporal (escala de silhuetas), nível de atividade física (IPAQ curto) e qualidade de vida (WHOQOL-Bref). A média da qualidade de vida geral foi de 74,9 pontos. Verificou-se melhor qualidade de vida nos domínios físico e social e pior no ambiental. Observaram-se diferenças na qualidade de vida geral e nos domínios físico, psicológico e social entre as categorias da imagem corporal. Houve diferença também na qualidade de vida geral e nos domínios físico e ambiental entre os níveis de atividade física. Conclui-se que os acadêmicos apresentaram boa qualidade de vida. Comparados aos seus pares, os insatisfeitos com sua imagem corporal tinham qualidade de vida inferior e os ativos fisicamente, superior. Não houve diferenças na qualidade de vida entre os sexos, cursos ou status do peso.
