La randonnée sociale en Allemagne (1900-1933) ou les prémices du concept d’éco-responsabilité dans les sports de pleine nature ?

Abstract

International audience; Aujourd'hui, plus que jamais, le fait sportif est envisagé sous l'angle du développement durable. Ce dernier, qui est autant une perspective ouvrant sur le futur qu'une réalité tangible, fournit l'occasion d'interroger les pratiques sportives. Les activités de pleine nature, qui ont connu un essor spectaculaire, doivent se montrer respectueuses de l'environnement et des activités économiques locales (élevage, agriculture, exploitation forestière, par exemple). Les aménagements pour le sport (les équipements et leur desserte, les structures d'accueil, les sites, les itinéraires) donnent matière à des consignes très précises afin de protéger les lieux. En milieu urbain, les activités sportives, d'intérieur ou de plein air, prennent elles aussi en considération le développement durable. Les comportements des publics de pratiquants (au quotidien, de fin de semaine, en séjour de vacances ou selon d'autres modalités de fréquentation) font l'objet de préconisations précises en appelant à une conduite responsable. La perspective diachronique, prenant en considération différentes époques, de la fin du XIXe siècle à aujourd'hui, et la perspective synchronique, faisant varier les échelles spatiales, ont permis de vérifier si et dans quelle mesure la question du développement durable et de la protection de la nature, à propos du sport, correspondait à une préoccupation de génération(s). A l'articulation de ces deux axes, des configurations caractéristiques ont été étudiées mettant en présence plusieurs catégories d'agents : décideurs politiques et administratifs, responsables associatifs, experts scientifiques, techniciens divers, éducateurs, pratiquants sportifs, etc. En fonction des enjeux et des forces en présence, des lignes de tension, des conflits d'usage, des compromis, des coopérations, des consensus se font jour... Durablement ou non ? La question ne doit jamais être écartée.
