Abstract

Depuis le milieu du XX e siècle, le travail social est en crise d’identité permanente. Après avoir été hanté dans les années 1970 par le spectre du « contrôle social », il est désormais passé sous le spectre du « néo-libéralisme » qui aurait soi-disant triomphé alors que ce nouveau spectre risque de s’avérer tout aussi fantasmatique que le précédent. Le travail social doit sortir de son autodénigrement et accepter qu’une nouvelle époque appelle un nouveau paradigme, celui du « coaching social » en lien avec une relance du travail social d’intervention collective.
