Authors: Ahmet İlkay Ceyhan;

Siyasal İletişimde Kamu Diplomasisi

Abstract

This book discusses the topic of public diplomacy in political communication. States need to obtain the consent of the public in order to gain and maintain power. Therefore, the political authorities of the state use elements of political communication in public relations efforts. Public diplomacy is a communication structure used by states to persuade the public opinion of other states through diplomatic means. The aim of this study is to explain how states or political authorities use political communication and public diplomacy methods to legitimize their own policies and establish the same legitimacy in the public opinion of other states.
