Abstract

El objetivo central de esta investigación fue estudiar las asociaciones de micromamíferos de la provincia del Chubut -con énfasis sobre el sector del curso del río Chubut y sectores colindantes- desde el Holoceno medio y su evolución a través del tiempo hasta la actualidad. Para lograr este objetivo se detectaron y estudiaron 9 depósitos superficiales de restos de micromamíferos (formaciones medanosas del nordeste provincial), 9 depósitos estratificados distribuidos a lo largo de la cuenca del río Chubut (perfil Las Bardas, 43°21’24”S, 65°37’36”W; Lie cul, 43°20’S, 65°35’W; alero La Angostura, 43°21’31”S, 65°38’21”W; cueva Caolinera Dique Ameghino, 43°40’48”S, 66°25’26”W; cueva de la Virgen, 43°42’10”S, 66°27’44”W; perfil Los Altares, 43°53’35”S, 68°23’21”W; grieta Piedra Parada 1,43°38’14”S, 70°13’25”W; Campo Cerda I, 42°37’S, 70°17’W y cueva Watkins, 42°45’01”S, 70°52’25”W) y 2 sitios paleontológicos localizados también en cercanías del cauce del río (alero Las Plumas, 43°47’25”S, 67°18’08”W y grieta El Torito, 43°16’46”S, 69°08’40”W).
