
Este trabajo, presenta un análisis crítico del modelo de enseñanza tradicional del primer nivel de la asignatura Lenguaje Visual –o su equivalente– en la educación terciaria y universitaria, bajo la lupa de los aportes de los pensadores de la Escuela de Frankfurt, con el objetivo de poner en evidencia de qué modo los rasgos atribuidos por estos autores al Iluminismo en general y a la industria cultural en particular están presentes, en su mayoría, en la educación artística. La separación entre mundo sensible e inteligible, la influencia de la lingüística y de la Teoría de la Gestalt, las principales estrategias didácticas, son algunos de los tópicos que se examinan, advirtiendo la necesidad de reparar en sus consecuencias pedagógicas.
