EVALUACIÓN DE LA MICROFILTRACIÓN EN OBTURACIONES ENDODÓNTICAS CON CEMENTO A BASE DE SILICONA

Abstract

Introducción: El estudio busca evaluar la microfiltración apical bacteriana y Microfiltración de tinta en conductos radiculares obturados usando un cemento tipo Grossman en comparación a uno a base de silicona y comparar los resultados después de 21 días. Materiales y Método: Se seleccionaron y obturaron endodónticamente 101 dientes uniradiculares, se emplearon dos tipos de cementos: Tipo Grossman (Endofill) y tipo Silicona (Roeko Seal Automix), 45 piezas dentarias fueron sumergidos en tinta china negra por 21 días, luego fueron descalcificados, deshidratados y transparentados para observar la presencia de tinta en la obturación radicular. 56 piezas fueron usadas para la prueba de filtración bacteriana por Enterococcus faecalis, la que fue inoculada en la porción coronal de los conductos obturados, se realizaron evaluaciones a través de 21 días evidenciando el paso de la bacteria a través del material de obturación por la reacción bioquímica del medio de Bilis Esculina situada en la zona apical. Resultados: El promedio de Microfiltración de tinta por vía coronal fue mayor para el cemento tipo Grossman, los menores valores de filtración se obtuvieron con los dientes obturados con el cemento a base de silicona, siendo esta diferencia estadísticamente significativa p<0.01. Para la prueba bacteriana se obtuvieron mejores resultados utilizando el cemento Roeko seal. Conclusion: La presente investigación demuestra que los materiales de obturación radicular son susceptibles de Microfiltración coronal y que las situaciones donde se aplica la prueba de filtración de tinta no pueden ser extrapolables a la prueba de filtración bacteriana.
