Abstract

Mimosa tenuiflora tem a semente como principal meio de propagação, por isso, é de fundamental importância estudar a resistência das sementes frente a diferentes condições de estresse. Diante do exposto, objetivou-se avaliar a germinação e o vigor de sementes de M. tenuiflora submetidas a diferentes condições de estresse hídrico. Para tal, as sementes foram beneficiadas e posteriormente submetidas à superação de dormência por meio de desponte na região oposta à micrópila. Logo após, as mesmas foram desinfestadas com hipoclorito de sódio a 0,6%. Em seguida as sementes foram semeadas em bandejas plásticas individuais para cada repetição, contendo areia umedecida com cinco diferentes níveis de capacidade de retenção (10, 20, 30, 40, 50 e 60%). Para cada tratamento, foram utilizadas quatro repetições de 25 sementes. As variáveis, porcentagem de germinação, primeira contagem de germinação, IVG, comprimento da parte aérea e radícula e massa seca,sofreram influência dos diferentes níveis de capacidade de retenção. O regime ideal para produção de sementes de Mimosa tenuifloracom alto vigor e germinação é de 40% de capacidade de retenção, porém, como as sementes são capazes de se adaptar a condições de baixa disponibilidade hídrica, apresentam desempenho semelhante quando submetidas a capacidade de retenção de 20%.
