Signification des variations contingentes négatives dans la dimension temporelle du comportement

Abstract

Résumé Chez un sujet placé dans une situation expérimentale permettant de prévoir l'arrivée d'un événement significatif, la découverte d'une déviation systématique de la ligne de base de l'EGG a suscité, depuis 1964, un important courant de recherches. Ce phénomène, baptisé « Contingent Negative Variation » (CNV), a été interprété comme un indice d'expectative, d'attention, d'éveil, de motivation, d'intention d'agir ou encore de préparation. Après une description méthodologique de la CNV, les données évoquées à l'appui de ces divers concepts sont examinées. L'accent est mis ensuite sur les paramètres temporels présents dans toute situation génératrice de CNV, et l'hypothèse d'une relation entre ce potentiel et les processus physiologiques sous-tendant l'estimation de la durée est envisagée.
