Ageing in Sub-Saharan Africa. This article is a brief synthesis of past and next ageing trends in Sub-Saharan Africa. Nowadays, elderly people are only a small part of the population and the ageing tendency to growth is very light in Africa. There is, however, a real heterogeneousness among countries, living environments, and between genders. Moreover, growth of elderly people numbers is fast, and the needs of this population will increase. Family changes, urbanisation and AIDS are some factors in position to make elderly more vulnerable in the future.
