Evaluación a fatiga de asfaltos modificados con caucho utilizando el reómetro de corte dinámico

Abstract

La resistencia a fatiga es una de las problemáticas más frecuente y compleja de predecir en los pavimentos asfálticos. Por su carácter viscoelástico, el asfalto es el material que presenta mayor aporte a la resistencia a fatiga dentro de la mezcla asfáltica. A lo largo de los años, el estudio a fatiga de los asfaltos, tanto convencionales como modificados, se ha perfeccionado notoriamente, al impulsar técnicas de vanguardia que permiten realizar una correcta caracterización de esta patología.En el presente trabajo se evalúa el comportamiento de asfaltos modificados con altas tasas de caucho proveniente de neumáticos fuera de uso (NFU) (15 % y 25 %) con el reómetro de corte dinámico (DSR, de su sigla en inglés) mediante el ensayo de barrido de amplitud lineal (LAS, de su sigla en inglés). Este ensayo consiste en evaluar la muestra a crecientes amplitudes oscilatorias, de forma tal de acumular el daño en la muestra, en el rango en el que se presenta la fatiga en el asfalto. Los resultados son evaluados mediante la teoría simplificada del daño continuo viscoelástico, la cual pone de manifiesto la resistencia a fatiga del asfalto, independizándola del tipo e intensidad de carga aplicada.
