Ó, borg mín, borg

Þýðingar á ljóði Vilhjálms frá Skáholti með formála eftir Hólmfríði Garðarsdóttur
Authors: Hólmfríður Garðarsdóttir;

Ó, borg mín, borg

Abstract

Einn þekktasti lofsöngur um höfuðborg Íslands, Reykjavík, er án efa kvæðið „Ó borg, mín borg“, eftir Vilhjálm frá Skáholti, sem Haukur Morthens gerði ódauðlegt um miðja síðustu öld. Til að veita því fjölmenningarlega samfélagi sem nú blómstrar á Íslandi tækifæri til að kynnast merkingu kvæðisins var ráðist í að þýða fyrsta erindi þess á ýmis tungumál. Kvæðið birtist fyrst á íslensku og því næst þýðingar þess á átta tungumálum – þar með talið íslenska táknmálinu.
