Abstract

En el marco de un estudio sobre las concepciones de estudiantes de secundaria acerca de los números racionales, se diseñó un cuestionario con cuatro actividades orientadas a indagar dicha comprensión. Se aplicó este cuestionario a 132 estudiantes de distintos años de escolaridad, de una escuela secundaria pública de Bariloche (Argentina). Se categorizaron las respuestas a cada una de las actividades con controles inter-juez. Posteriormente se realizó un Análisis Factorial de Correspondencias Múltiple y Clasificación Jerárquica de las respuestas de los estudiantes y se buscaron asociaciones de las clases resultantes con el nivel de estudio de los mismos. En cuanto a las concepciones de los estudiantes, encontramos un gradiente que se expresa desde una ajenidad respecto al tema, le sigue una fase intermedia asociada principalmente con relacionar los números racionales con objetos previamente vistos como son los números enteros o números decimales y finalmente encontramos una comprensión de los racionales mas cercana al respectivo concepto matemático y un buen manejo general de las propiedades de orden y densidad, presente en los estudiantes más avanzados.
