Abstract

Este trabajo estudiará a las ciudades japonesas de Hiroshima y, de manera paralela, Nagasaki, en su trayecto por crear una paradiplomacia enfocada en el desarme nuclear. Se tiene como objetivos el estudiar la diplomacia cultural creada por las ciudades niponas que promueve el desarme entre la comu-nidad internacional, a través del análisis de la acción diplomática de estos actores subestatales, demostrando los resultados enfocándose en el desarme nuclear internacional.Se considera la pertinencia de este trabajo para la introducción de los conceptos y metodologías de la investigación por la paz y sus comentarios hacia las teorías tradicionales de las relaciones internacionales, teniendo como ejemplo a dos ciudades que han incluido en sus políticas públicas el trabajo por la paz.Por lo anterior, el presente artículo versa sobre las implicaciones de la paradiplomacia de las ciudades de Hiroshima y Nagasaki en las estrategias de desarme nuclear a escala internacional, tomando en cuenta la participa-ción de las ciudades como actores internacionales.
