Abstract

Pentingnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis yang tidak diimbangi dengan prestasi belajar yang optimal pada siswa menjadi latar belakang dilakukannya penelitian ini. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran REACT dan respon siswa terhadap model pembelajaran REACT. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada siswa kelas X SMA di salah satu SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Garut. Sampel yang dipilih adalah kelas X MIPA 4 yang berjumlah 31 siswa. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari instrumen tes berupa soal uraian dan non tes berupa angket. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji Normalized Gain. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa kualitas peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis siswa yang memperoleh model pembelajaran REACT memiliki interpretasi yang tinggi. Selain itu, sikap siswa secara umum terhadap pembelajaran dengan model pembelajaran REACT mendapatkan respon dengan interpretasi yang cukup. Dengan demikian, model pembelajaran REACT dapat meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa dan direspon dengan cukup baik oleh siswa. The importance of mathematical problem-solving abilities that are not balanced with optimal achievement in students to be the background for conducting this research. The research objective was to determine the increase in students 'mathematical problem-solving abilities using the REACT learning model and students' responses to the REACT learning model. This research was conducted on class X high school students in one of the public high schools in Garut Regency. The sample chosen was class X MIPA 4 with as many as 31 students. The research instrument consisted of a test instrument in the form of description questions and a non-test in the form of a questionnaire. The data obtained were analyzed by using the Normalized Gain test. The results of the data analysis showed that the quality of the improvement in the mathematical problem-solving abilities of students who received the REACT learning model had a high interpretation. Also, students' attitudes in general towards learning using the REACT learning model get responses with sufficient interpretations. Thus, the REACT learning model can improve students' problem-solving abilities and is responded to quite well by students.
