La gran apuesta, ¿cuánto afectan los cambios de Twitter a la comunicación científica?

Abstract

Desde que Elon Musk desvelase su intención de comprar Twitter, se ha desatado la inquietud en la comunidad científica. El que es el principal canal social para la comunicación científica ha visto ahora peligrar su hegemonía. En este trabajo se analizan los cambios y consecuencias durante los primeros meses de gestión de Musk. Un período marcado por incesantes cambios y en los que una parte de la comunidad ha encontrado suficientes motivos para migrar a otros sistemas, con Mas­todon a la cabeza. En el terreno de la investigación las consecuencias son mucho más palpables, produciéndose un giro en la política de acceso a los datos. Sin embargo, las implicaciones a largo plazo de la era Musk en Twitter para el ámbito académico todavía son inciertas.
