
This paper seeks to explain the purpose introductory book of Luke in Luke 1: 1-4. Important words contained in each verse, and the much-discussed interpreters explained the meaning. Words important of which are: "news events", "has happened", "eyewitnesses and ministers of the word", "Theophilus", "from the beginning" and "regularly." The words were explained by looking at the sentence structure, lexicon, grammar, context, as well as the opinion of the New Testament scholars. Key Words: Meaning, Introduction, Luke, Narrative.
