Abstract

Tulisan ini bertujuan menyoroti makna denotasi dan konotasi pada tanda pada dilarang berpacaran yang terdapat di taman kota di Samarinda. Taman kota yang diambil adalah taman kota yangbersifat publik, ikonik dan berada dekat dengan fasilitas umum lainnya. Semiotika pendekatan Roland Barthes digunakan sebagai metode dalam analisis. Data diambil dengan melakukan wawancara ke pengunjung tiga taman kota dan pengamatan serta melalui sumber yang bersifat sekunder, sehingga diperoleh hasil : 1) taman kota sebagai bentuk dari ruang terbuka hijau (RTH) memiliki dua fungsi yaitu ekologis dan sosial 2) tanda dilarang berpacaran merupakan jenis semiotik kultural dan normatif.
