Las alucinaciones visuales del ojo fantasma: la paradoja fantasmal de la no-imagen

Abstract

Este artículo parte del supuesto de que un ojo amputado -ojo fantasma- puede ver fantasmas. Según la autora, las alucinaciones visuales -aquellas imágenes percibidas por dicho ojo fantasma- son fantasmas. El objetivo del artículo tiene dos partes: la primera busca explicar las alucinaciones visuales desde dos perspectivas científicas: la del síndrome del ojo fantasma, y la del síndrome de Charles Bonnet, y la segunda busca explicar dichas alucinaciones desde una perspectiva no científica mediante el análisis de un caso clínico de una artista con un ojo amputado que pinta sus alucinaciones. La conclusión es que la artista ve fantasmas, lo cual permite problematizar el concepto de imagen en la historia del arte.
