Primatas do estado de Rondônia

Abstract

No Estado de Rondônia, localizado na região oeste da Amazônia brasileira, encontramos uma diversidade de ecossistemas, como a floresta amazônica, o Pantanal e o Cerrado. Atualmente, são conhecidas 29 espécies de primatas na região, porém muitas delas ainda necessitam de reavaliação taxonômica e de distribuição. Rondônia faz parte do "Arco do desmatamento", uma área com altas taxas de desmatamento que ameaçam a sobrevivência de várias espécies de primatas. A presença de grandes rios, como o rio Madeira, atua como barreira para algumas espécies de primatas e influência a diversidade e variação morfológica desses animais.
