Miradas caleidoscópicas sobre la discapacidad intelectual

Abstract

El artículo reflexiona sobre los modos en que la discapacidad intelectual es socialmente producida desde nuestras interacciones cotidianas, a partir de los resultados de una investigación etnográfica desarrollada en la ciudad de La Plata, Argentina. Si los estudios críticos en discapacidad ponen su centro en diálogos que amplifiquen la primera voz y las experiencias situadas de personas con discapacidades, entonces es necesario indagar qué diálogos proponen las personas con discapacidades intelectuales sobre sus propias experiencias y cómo se posicionan ellas y sus familias frente a los discursos que los nombran. El artículo argumenta cómo las personas con trastornos del desarrollo intelectual logran tensionar las bases racionales de los procesos de clasificación y nominación en el campo de la discapacidad.
