ONICOMICOSE E PSORÍASE UNGUEAL

Abstract

A psoríase é uma doença crónica, imunologicamente mediada, que afecta cerca 2% da população. Resulta de uma predisposição poligénica em combinação com factores ambientais, por exemplo traumatismos, infecções, ou fármacos. Todas as formas de psoríase podem apresentar atingimento ungueal (40-45%), mas por vezes este pode ocorrer isoladamente (5%). A onicomicose é a infecção das unhas causada por fungos dermatófitos, leveduras ou fungos filamentosos não dermatófitos; o agente mais frequente é o Trichophyton rubrum (T. rubrum). Mantém-se a controvérsia em relação à maior ou menor prevalência da onicomicose em doentes com psoríase. As alterações ungueais causadas pela psoríase são, por vezes, clinicamente indistinguíveis daquelas por onicomicose, sendo obrigatório o seu diagnóstico diferencial, uma vez que o tratamento é distinto. Existem vários estudos que analisam a eventual predisposição de onicomicose em doentes com psoríase ungueal e a presente revisão bibliográfica tem como objectivo a análise desses estudos, até à data publicados.
