Abstract

As alopecias, as doenças inflamatórias e infecciosas do couro cabeludo e as doenças da haste pilosa são entidades comuns na práctica clínica, com um diagnóstico diferencial por vezes vasto e/ou difícil. Neste contexto, nos últimos anos tem sido desenvolvida e aperfeiçoada progressivamente a tricoscopia, isto é, o exame dermatoscópico do cabelo e do couro cabeludo. A tricoscopia tem ganho popularidade crescente dado o vasto leque de possíveis aplicações e a sua facilidade de execução, tratando-se de uma técnica não invasiva que pode ser realizada no consultório, permitindo não só ajudar no diagnóstico de diversas doenças do cabelo e do couro cabeludo, mas também a sua monitorização terapêutica. Os autores fazem uma revisão do conhecimento actual da tricoscopia, nomeadamente das estruturas tricoscópicas descritas e da sua aplicabilidade no diagnóstico de várias entidades clínicas com critérios tricoscópicos bem definidos.
