Abstract

A varicela perinatal é uma patologia rara mas potencialmente grave, sobretudo se o exantema materno ocorre nos cinco diasanteriores ou nos dois dias posteriores ao parto. Os autores apresentam dois casos clínicos de varicela perinatal observados na Unidade de Cuidados Intensivos de Neonatologiado Departamento de Pediatria do Hospital S. João. Os doentes receberam imunoglobulina específica endovenosa (Varitect9, na dosede 11-n1/Kg, profilática e precocemente. Nos dois casos, o exantema vesicular típico surgiu no 5.° dia de vida. No primeiro caso, não se registou outra sintomatologia. O segundo doente apresentava exantema vesicular muito exuberante, tendo sido medicado com acyclovir (30 mg/Kg/dia, endovenoso)durante seis dias. A evolução foi favorável nos dois recém-nascidos, havendo resolução da sintomatologia e tendo tido ambos alta bem, semsequelas.
