Lehrpersonen mit Migrationshintergrund

Abstract

The difference between students with a migration background and the ones without, in terms of educational success, is significant. Students with a migration background, are more likely to not succed in the educational system. Migration teachers are a possible way, to have a positiv effect on this circumstance, because they could have positive effects on their students with a migration background. This survey is looking at roles and expectations, that are brought to migration teachers, such as role models, mentors and trusted persons. And it is looking at the self-reflexion of the migration teachers, in context to the roles and expectations. The results of the survey confirms the created roles and expectations, as the migration teachers see themselves in those roles. They see their migration background as a bonus in their schools. So it should be a goal, to have a divers teaching staff, but without stigamtising them on their migration background.
