Medeias Propercianas: uma recolha

Abstract

A Mitografia, isto é, o escrever sobre os mitos, aparenta ter sido escrita comum entre os antigos. Esse gênero, no entanto, parece apresentar duas vertentes: uma que coleta e outra que interpreta as narrativas míticas. No primeiro grupo, destacam-se autores como Higino e Pseudo-Apolodoro. Por outro lado, entre os poetas, também se utilizou dessas narrativas, no que se destaca a poesia de Propércio, poeta augustano. Em sua produção, pode-se salientar a presença das histórias de Medeia, que são, segundo a tradição, várias e variadas, desde sua vida na Cólquida – passando pela tragédia em Corinto – até a fuga para Atenas. Na elegia properciana, por sua vez, vê-se o poeta utilizar os diferentes episódios desse mito na construção de seu discurso.
