PENGARUH KUAT ARUS PENGELASAN TERHADAP KEKUATAN TEKAN

Abstract

Las listrik merupakan salah satu cara menyambung logam dengan jalan menggunakan nyala busur listrik yang diarahkan ke permukaan logam yang akan disambung. Logam cair dari elektroda dan sebagian benda yang akan disambung bercampur mengisi celah kedua logam yang akan disambung, akan membeku dan tersambunglah kedua logam tersebut. Baja karbon medium merupakan baja dengan kandungan karbon sebesar 0,36% dan merupakan material yang cukup baik untuk digunakan untuk proses pengelasan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kekuatan tekan pada sambungan hasil las listrik dengan material baja karbon medium menggunakan arus yang berbeda. Hasil pengujian yang dilakukan, diketahui bahwa kekuatan tekan tertinggi terdapat pada material hasil pengelasan 110A dengan rata-rata panjang sobekan 1,74mm, sedangkan kekuatan tekan terendah terdapat pada material hasil pengelasan 95A dengan rata-rata panjang sobekan 4,2mm.
