The paper deals with the arrangement function of the regional cultural policy by a case study of changes in the musical theater activities in Kemerovo Region. The author takes the institutional approach to and analyzes the activity of musical theater in Kemerovo Region as one of the institutions of the region’s cultural environment. The organizational impact of the regional cultural policy on the transformations in the above-mentioned theatre is exemplified. It implies the relocation of the theatre to Kemerovo and its gradual status change resulted in its wide list of productions. Based on the archives, the research proves that the cultural space is created by a shift in the cultural paradigm and the identification of values. The author notes that the list of productions of contemporary theatre is changing because of the commercialized culture.
