
The article provides a comprehensive analysis of factors and ideas that had an impact on Čiurlionis’ aesthetic peculiarity. It treats the Lithuanian artist as a representative of theoretical aesthetics, or “aesthetics from below”. Aesthetic ideas developed in his letters and articles generally derive from a theoretical comprehension of issues related to harmony, the process of artistic creativity, and the interrelationship between painting and music that excited him throughout various phases of his creative evolution. The principal attention in this piece of research is to the connections between Čiurlionis’ aesthetics and the ideas of major traditions of romanticism in art. The article particularly focuses on the multi-dimensional discussion of art as the artist’s highest mission and refuge for spiritual values, the elevation of music in the hierarchy of arts, the idea of the intimate links between different forms of art.
Straipsnyje įvairiais aspektais analizuojami M. K. Čiurlionio estetikos savitumą veikę veiksniai ir idėjos. Čia lietuvių menininkas traktuojamas kaip menotyrinės estetikos, tai yra „estetikos iš apačios“, atstovas, kurio laiškuose ir straipsniuose plėtojamos estetikos idėjos dažniausiai kyla iš konkrečiu kūrybinės evoliucijos tarpsniu labiausiai jaudinusių grožio, harmonijos, meninės kūrybos proceso ir tapybos bei muzikos sąveikos problemų teorinio apmąstymo. Daugiausia dėmesio tyrime sutelkiama į Čiurlionio estetikos ryšius su su romantizmo meno filosofijos idėjomis.
