Ser. 2, 48 (2): 29. 1952. The reason for rejecting the earlier choice (Hitchcock in Prop. Brit. Bot. 123. 1929) of H. auricularia Linn. as lectotype of the generic name Hedyotis was given by Bremekamp (l.c.) and is repeated and endorsed below (p. 99).
