Abstract

Gramen perenne laxe caespitosum, e rhizomate tenui ortum; culmi 1-2 m. alti, robusti, nodis atro-purpureis. Foliorum vaginae glabrae; laminae 25-40 cm. longae et 7-17 mm. latae, planae, sine auriculis. Panicula anguste ovata, 20-30 cm. longa; rami primarii flexuosi, patentes, spiculis prope apicem fasciculatis. Spiculae 3-5-floratae, linearo-oblongae, 10-I2 mm. longae, virides vel purpurascentes; gluma inferior 4-5'5 mm. longa, 1-3nervis; gluma superior 5-7 mm. longa, 3-nervis; lemmata ovato-elliptica, inferioria 6-8 mm. longa, scabrida, infra apicem hyalinum acute bidentatum aristata; arista 9-15 mm. longa; palea lemmati paullo longior, carinis scaberulis; ovarium glabrum; antherae 2-4 mm. longae.
