New Types of Activity for Nutrition Services in Public Health

Abstract

T HE problem of the relationship of nutrition to health has been forced upon the attention of public health authorities by reports of far more wide-spread supposed malnutrition than we formerly suspected. At the same time, perhaps we are now less sure of some aspects of the problem than we were a few years ago. Public health has gradually been assuming more responsibility in this field. The purpose of the meeting today is to criticize ourselves for what we have not done, to consider new types of activity that have recently come into the picture, and to project philosophies and plans for the future.
