Brasil “sonhado” e Brasil real

Abstract

O processo migratório que ocorreu do Haiti ao Brasil principalmente durante a década de 2010 é um tema crescentemente explorado em pesquisas no Brasil. Neste texto, busco salientar as impressões de imigrantes haitianos sobre o Brasil, antes e depois do seu processo de mobilidade, evidenciando o que conheciam e o que conheceram do Brasil e dos(as) brasileiros(as): o “Brasil sonhado” e o Brasil real. Realizo estas análises a partir de entrevistas realizadas com imigrantes haitianos que vivem no Brasil, em pesquisa realizada durante os anos de 2020-2022, em diálogo com referências literárias tanto brasileiras como haitianas. Os resultados demonstram que o Brasil conhecido antes do processo de migração é um Brasil mais negro, receptivo, mais próximo culturalmente do Haiti do que aquele encontrado na chegada. O Brasil real demonstra-se ainda com muitos preconceitos e estruturas coloniais baseadas no racismo. Dessa forma, discuto como os estudos dos processos migratórios são relevantes também na medida em que acontece a circularidade de conhecimentos e culturas que tornam possível observar diferentes realidades a partir da perspectiva dos sujeitos migrantes.
