We consider the possibility of solar neutrino decay as a sub-leading effect on their propagation between production and detection. Using current oscillation data, we set a new lower bound to the $_2$ neutrino lifetime at $_2\, /\, m_2 \geq 7.2 \times 10^{-4}\,\,\hbox{s}\,.\,\hbox{eV}^{-1}$ at $99\%\,$C.L.. Also, we show how seasonal variations in the solar neutrino data can give interesting additional information about neutrino lifetime.

| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 45 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Top 10% | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Top 10% | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Top 10% |
