Arrecifes de coral y cambio climático: una relación fracturada

Abstract

Los arrecifes de coral enfrentan una crisis sin precedentes debido al cambio climático. El aumento en la temperatura del agua provoca el blanqueamiento coralino, uno de los principales factores que amenazan su supervivencia. Este fenómeno no sólo pone en riesgo la biodiversidad marina, sino también los servicios ecosistémicos que los arrecifes brindan a millones de personas. El texto analiza cómo el cambio climático afecta a estos ecosistemas, y resalta la importancia de mantener la investigación científica, impulsar la restauración ecológica y promover acciones globales urgentes para asegurar su conservación a largo plazo.
