Wegweiser durchs Gattungsdickicht: Rüdiger Zymners Studie zur literaturwissenschaftlichen Gattungstheorie

Abstract

Um das spezifische Leistungsvermögen der Gattungstheorie als theoretisches Instrumentarium erfassen zu können, ist eine solide Kenntnis der verschiedenen Ansätze, Richtungen, eben der "Probleme und Positionen" der gattungstheoretischen Literaturwissenschaft, erforderlich. Die vorliegende Studie hat es sich zur Aufgabe gemacht, eine solche literaturwissenschaftliche Basisarbeit zu leisten. Ausgehend von der historischen Entwicklung der Gattungstheorie, stellt Zymner umfassend v.a. die dieser Teildisziplin inhärente Problematik von Begriffsfindung bzw. terminologischer Bestimmung dar und fasst die verschiedenen Aspekte der Gattungstheorie prägnant zusammen. Durch ihre insgesamt gelungene Strukturierung und die klare Argumentation ist die Studie gerade auch für Studierende geeignet, die sich in diese literaturtheoretischen Teilgebiete einarbeiten wollen.
