Modelli di ricostruzione filogenetica e biogeografia

Abstract

BIOGEOGRAPHIA - vol. XI - 1985 Principi e metodi deIl'ana/isi biogeagrafica Modelli di ricostruzione filogenetica e biogeografia VINCENZO VOMERO Muxeo Cz'w'co dzq Zoologzkz, Roma SUMMARY Phylogenetic recomtructzbn model: and Biogeograp/7y Biogeographical processes are functions of time, of space and of form and acts on different scales that we variously call ecological determinism, historical biogeography etc. The systematic biogeographer own the best potentiality to reach sound results of general interest looking for biogeographycal patter among taxa with the helpof a reliable phylogenetic model. The model that tries to reconstruct the se- quence of speciation events within a framework of cladistic methodology seems to generate the best result. The main problems faced by the cladist must be overcame with the help of algorithms of parsimony and compatibility and with new methods still under investigation.
