Fitogeografia apuana.

After a thorough search of bibliographic records and herbarium vouchers, known Sp/mgm/m stations have been checked in the Field and mapped on a digital cartographic base in a GIS environment. Then, we were able to draw the potential range of the genus, by superimposing the actual distribution map to the geologic map and by selecting the areas whose environmental parameters (aspect, elevation, substrate) are compatible with the ecological requirements of Sp/Jzzg7mm species. Further surveys were then made in the potential range, leading to the confirmation of 8 stations and to the discovery of 9 new stations, at elevations between 30 and 1050 m. mostly with northern aspect. Unfortunately, we could not confirm many known stations. We identified 8 floristic units, 6 at specific and 2 at varietal level. One species, 5. .rqm1rra.tm71, had never been reported earlier for the Apuan Alps. All populations are declining due to various sources of threat: changes in land management, groundwater extraction, infrastructure development. Finally, we propose a management plan aimed at avoiding the extinction of the Sp/)t1g71Itm populations from the Apuan territory.
