Transitividade intermediária: indício de não modularidade

Abstract

Este artigo apresenta como uma visão não categórica de transitividade permite observar fenômenos linguísticos que apontam para uma teoria de não modularidade. A partir de dados de línguas bantu, mostro como a transitividade é um fenômeno que transcende o verbo, seguindo a proposta de Hopper e Thompson (1980). Essa abordagem permite resgatar a noção de “estrutura ativa” (KLIMOV, 1974; SEKI, 1976), para defender que as variações de transitividade são marcadas linguisticamente em diferentes níveis: no léxico, na morfologia, na sintaxe e no discurso, pelo menos. Dessa maneira, ao diluir os limites dos diferentes níveis de análise, este trabalho contribui para reforçar o compromisso de generalização da Linguística Cognitiva (LAKOFF, 1990) e para indicar a transitividade como um objeto nos estudos sobre modularidade.Palavras-chave: estrutura ativa; línguas bantu; Linguística Cognitiva.
