Dinamika Dua-Dimensi Butiran Berbentuk Bola yang Terapung pada Permukaan Fluida yang Merambatkan Gelombang

Abstract

Simulasi dinamika butiran berbentuk bola pada permukaan fluida yang merambatkan gelombang dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode dinamika molekuler yang mengasumsikan bahwa superposisi gaya angkat dengan gaya gravitasi, yang diperlambat dengan gaya hambat fluida, menyebabkan benda dapat begerak dua-dimensi. Hal ini berbeda dengan hasil sebelumnya di mana benda hanya dapat begerak dalam satu dimensi dikarenakan ukuran bola Db << λf, sedangkan dalam pekerjaan ini Db < λf sehingga arah gaya angkat perlu diperhatikan. Secara teori gerak dua-dimensi akan cenderung menjadi gerak satu-dimensi bila nilai Db/λ kurang dari nilai tertentu, dan tetap dua dimensi bila melampaui nilai tertentu. Diperoleh dalam pengamatan selama 20 s bahwa frekuensi gelombang dapat mempengaruhi arah perpindahan benda berbentuk bola tersebut, menjadi searah atau berlawanan arah dengan arah rambat gelombang pada permukaan fluida.
