Fabricación en frio de áridos artificiales a partir de suelos arcillosos y arenosos

Abstract

La presente Tesis Doctoral trata de demostrar qué materiales arcillosos y arenosos, tratados en frío con derivados del petróleo y mezclados con los adecuados componentes químicos, pueden dar como resultado productos pétreos artificiales con características semejantes o comparables con los áridos naturales. Los suelos arcillosos de las zonas de selva tropical son mayoritariamente lateríticos y constituyen el 90% de los materiales inorgánicos disponibles. El 10% restante son arenas silíceas, que forman bancos o terrazas en los cauces fluviales. Los ensayos realizados en laboratorio permiten asegurar que dichos suelos son una materia prima utilizable para la fabricación de áridos artificiales de comportamiento suficiente. La investigación realizada puede contribuir a paliar la carencia de áridos naturales en extensas zonas de selva.
