Geoquímica urbana de elementos traza

Abstract

Esta tesis doctoral pretende: a) investigar la composición elemental; fuentes y distribución de las partículas atmosféricas sedimentables en Hannover (Alemania), Madrid (España) y Oslo (Noruega); b) caracterizar la composición de los "suelos" urbanos, frente a los suelos "naturales", de la provincia de Madrid; y c) estudiar la influencia de la ciudad en su conjunto sobre la composición de los suelos situados dentro de sus límites y en sus alrededores. Para ello se ha elaborado una nueva metodología de diseño del muestreo para la elaboración de mapas de isoconcentraciones elementales en materiales granulado, que permite evaluar la calidad del mapa elaborado en función de los conceptos de estabilidad y resolución del mismo. Entre las conclusiones más significativas alcanzadas cabe señalar: I) Identificación del tráfico, construcción y alteración de edificios y resuspensión de partículas de suelo como las tres fuentes principales de elementos traza en polvo urbano; II) clasificación de los elementos traza en ambientes urbanos en "naturales", "urbanos" y con origen mixto o que han sufrido alteraciones geoquímicas; III) reconocimiento del efecto gradual de la eliminación del plomo en las gasolinas sobre la concentración del mismo en partículas de polvo urbano; IV) evaluación de la influencia que la ciudad de Madrid ejerce sobre la composición de los suelos situados dentro de sus límites y en sus alrededores.
