Bilindigi uzere egitim tarihinin en onemli konularindan birisi olcme ve degerlendirmedir. Egitsel olcme ve degerlendirme 1900lerin baslarinda ogretim programlarindan ayri olarak tartisilmaya baslanmistir. Fen egitiminde ise benzer calismalar 2.Dunya savasindan daha sonralari literaturde yer almaya baslamistir. Fizik egitiminde ise kavramsal olceklerin baslangici olarak 1990li yillarin baslangici olarak bilinmektedir. Bu calismada ortaokul son sinifta (8.sinif) okuyan 193 ogrenciye uygulanan ve ses kavrami ile ilgili konulari iceren kavram testi uygulanmistir. Yapilan analiz sonucunda ise bu testin guvenirliligi 0,72 (KR-20) olarak bulunmustur. Testte ogrencilerin temel ogretimde 8 yil boyunca ‘ses’ kavrami hakkinda ogrendikleri kavramlari iceren toplam 20 soru bulunmaktadir. Arastirma sonucunda ozellikle ortaokul seviyesinde ‘Klasik Test Teorisi’ kullanilarak gelistirilmis olan kavram testlerinin onemi vurgulanmistir.
