Fecundidad, nupcialidad y pobreza en la región Atlántica colombiana 2015

Abstract

Resumen: Objetivo. Este artículo analiza la relación del índice de riqueza con la fecundidad y la nupcialidad para la región Atlántica Colombiana. La fuente sociodemográfica utilizada para la realización de este estudio es la Encuesta Nacional de Demografía y Salud (ENDS) de 2015. Metodología. Se basa en un análisis exploratoriodescriptivo de la relación existente entre las variables. Dentro de los cálculos usados se encuentra el número promedio de uniones y las tasas globales de Fecundidad por nivel de riqueza halladas por el método de Brass P/F. Resultados y Conclusión. Se observa la existencia de una relación entre la variable fecundidad y la nupcialidad; sin embargo, la diferencia entre el nivel de riqueza medio y rico está tendiendo a desaparecer, lo que lleva a suponer el comienzo de una postergación de la maternidad en las clases medias de la región Atlántica.
