Ilusiones y evasiones. Culpa y vergüenza en tres novelas colombianas

Abstract

El objeto de este artículo es la exploración de la lógica de la culpa y la vergüenza en tres novelas colombianas: En diciembre llegaban las brisas (1987) de Marvel Moreno, Delirio (2004) de Laura Restrepo y Las cuitas de Carlota (2003) de Helena Araújo. La hipótesis implícita del ensayo es que los actos narrativos no son inocentes ni neutrales, y que la culpa y vergüenza son el motor que articula todo un sistema de ilusiones y de evasiones que le dan forma al mundo épico. Así, culpa y vergüenza no son asumidas como temas literarios, sino como elementos que se sedimentan en la forma narrativa. En el caso de las tres novelas estudiadas, además del sistema patriarcal hay un asunto crucial que permite desentrañar la lógica de la culpa: la cuestión de la clase social, frente a la cual las tres narradoras emplean estrategias diversas.
