Perfil cognitivo en pacientes con infección por el virus de inmunodeficiencia humana neurológicamente asintomáticos

Abstract
Introducción: Diversos estudios han comunicado la presencia de deterioro cognitivo asociado al virus de inmunodeficiencia humana (VIH) tipo 1, aún en estadios tempranos de la infección. Las principales funciones comprometidas son la memoria a corto plazo, velocidad psicomotriz, atención y función ejecutiva. Objetivos: Describir el perfil cognitivo en pacientes con VIH neurológicamente asintomáticos, antes de iniciar terapia antirretroviral de gran actividad (TARGA), y determinar posibles factores asociados.
