Abstract

Las transformaciones derivadas del proceso de urbanizacion, el cambio climatico y el creciente grado de conciencia general sobre la trascendencia de las cuestiones medioambientales han permitido que la sostenibilidad se convierta en un tema clave de la agenda urbana. En este contexto, la escala aparece como una cuestion irrenunciable: los marcos interpretativos y posibles soluciones a los desajustes no solo pueden surgir como iniciativa estatal o como reflexion macro, por lo cual se requiere que la comprension sobre los modos de construccion de ciudad y sus implicaciones se traslade a ambitos cercanos a la ciudadania. Adjetivar el paradigma contemporaneo de la sostenibilidad con los atributos de urbana y de barrial funciona en dicho sentido.
