Abstract

il nominalismo del XIV secolo esprime l'esigenza di riformulare con rigore logico-linguistico molte questioni metafisiche, liberandole dal peso delle ipostatizzazioni cui alcuni scolastici avevano fatto ricorso con una certa intemperanza, e far emergere un aristotelismo purificato dalle contaminazioni neoplatoniche arabe e latine. I maestri nominalisti elaborano un modello di filosofia che non è una semplice risposta al problema degli universali, ma coinvolge una logica e una epistemologia connesse con un preciso modello di razionalità

Nominalism of 14th century expresses the need to reformulate the logical-linguistic rigor with many metaphysical questions, liberating them from the weight of ipostatization utilizied by many Scholastics, and to bring out an Aristotelianism purified from neo-Platonic Arabic and Latin contaminations. The nominalists masters develop a philosophy that is not a simple answer to the problem of universals, but involves a logic and an epistemology associated with a precise model of rationality
